Quick verdict

Yes. Connecteam is an established, venture-funded software company with offices in New York and Tel Aviv, a named CEO, public funding rounds, and a trust center listing its security certifications. Three independent review sites rate it well, and it has more than 100,000 ratings across five platforms.

There are two caveats. First, most of those ratings were requested by the company, often with an incentive, so the critical reviews tell you more than the average. They center on features locked behind higher tiers, sales follow-ups, app bugs, and the Always location permission. Second, because any business can sign up, a few job seekers report fake employers using the app; that is a hiring scam, not a problem with the software.

Who runs Connecteam

Connecteam was founded in 2016. It is headquartered at 119 W 24th St in New York, with offices in Tel Aviv. Its CEO is co-founder Amir Nehemia. The company has raised $160M in total. The largest round was a $120M Series C in March 2022, co-led by Stripes and Insight Partners (Insight Partners announcement). LinkedIn puts the headcount at about 500. We found no lawsuits, regulatory actions, or reported data breaches involving the company.

Connecteam awards in 2026

Gartner's software review sites rank products partly on their user reviews. Capterra lists Connecteam on its 2026 Shortlist in 12 categories, among them Employee Scheduling, Time Clock, Attendance Tracking, and Workforce Management, and gives it a 2026 Best of badge for Production Scheduling and a Best ease of use recognition. Software Advice names it a 2026 FrontRunner.

These badges draw on the same reviews discussed below, most of which Connecteam requested. GetApp, which shares Capterra's review pool, shows no award on its Connecteam page, and we could not check G2's badges because G2 blocks automated access.

Connecteam security and compliance claims

Connecteam's trust center lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and PCI DSS 4.0.1. It states AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, with primary hosting in the Netherlands on Azure, a backup in Ireland on Azure, and a site in Germany on AWS.

The SOC 2, ISO 27001, and penetration test reports are available on request after logging in, and no auditor is named on the public page. That is common practice, but it means the certifications are self-reported until you read the reports. Healthcare teams should know that a HIPAA-registered account carries additional fees on every plan and needs a business associate agreement (BAA) with Connecteam.

What independent reviewers say about Connecteam

  • Fit Small Business (Robie Ann Ferrer, updated May 29, 2026): 4.41 out of 5. Its cons: no live phone support, limited integrations, and no payroll or labor forecasting tools.
  • Business News Daily (Jessica Elliott, updated Sep 9, 2025): 9.3 out of 10 and “Best for Communication” in its time and attendance roundup. The page notes it earns commissions from some listed providers.
  • Forbes Advisor (archived copy; John Iwuozor, audited May 16, 2024): 4.4, “Best For Retailers and Other High-Turnover Businesses”. Its cons include pricing that can be expensive for teams under 30 users and reports of app lag and freezing.

We found no Better Business Bureau profile for Connecteam, so there is no BBB rating or complaint record to check.

How Connecteam's reviews were collected

Connecteam averages 4.8 across more than 100,000 ratings on five platforms. The reviews come from real accounts, but most were requested by the company, and many came with an incentive. From our September 30, 2026 pulls:

  • Capterra: 89 of 100 reviews carry an incentive label (73 vendor-referred with an incentive, 16 with a nominal gift).
  • G2: G2 marks 269 of 292 reviews as incentivized, most of them from seller invites.
  • Trustpilot: 93 of the 99 most recent reviews came through a review link Connecteam shares. Trustpilot labels those reviews “unprompted”, so the label alone doesn't show it.

Requested reviews tend to score higher. In our Trustpilot pull for Deputy, for example, 30 invited reviews averaged 4.47 and 20 unprompted ones 1.25. So read the overall scores as a ceiling. Many App Store and Google Play reviews come from employees who use the app because their employer chose it. Google Play shows the gap: Connecteam's 200 newest reviews there average 3.48 (Mar 31 to Sep 29, 2026), against 4.8 overall. Our methodology page explains how we count and display them.

What critical Connecteam reviews say

The recurring complaints in our pulls are features locked behind higher tiers and sales follow-ups, cost once a team passes 10 users, app bugs and logouts, the Always location permission employees are asked to grant, and support that starts with an AI bot and has no phone line.

“I don’t like that every feature is an upsell to the next level of pricing as it is not always clear which features are included.”Amanda, Trustpilot, Jul 2026
“The constant upselling is exhausting.”Becky W., G2, May 2025

Job scams that use the Connecteam app

A few one-star reviews come from job seekers who were “hired” through online listings, onboarded in the Connecteam app, and then asked for bank and Social Security details by an employer that turned out to be fake. Connecteam is a tool any business can sign up for, so the app doesn't vouch for the company using it.

“I would not recomend this app unless you are completely sure the company is legitimate”Ey Ta Le, App Store, Dec 2023

The FBI's 2022 warning on fraudulent job postings advises job seekers to verify a posting on the hiring company's own website and says legitimate companies ask for bank details for payroll only after hiring. If an employer you can't verify asks for that information inside any workplace app, stop and check.

Our verdict on whether Connecteam is legit

Connecteam is a legitimate company with a working product, real funding, and published security claims. Before you commit, read the critical reviews rather than the average, check which tier holds the features you need, and ask for the SOC 2 report if compliance matters to you. Our full review record puts the critical reviews alongside the positive ones.

Is Connecteam legit FAQ

Is Connecteam a real company?+

Yes. Connecteam is a venture-backed software company founded in 2016 and headquartered in New York with offices in Tel Aviv, led by CEO and co-founder Amir Nehemia. It has raised $160M, including a $120M Series C in March 2022 co-led by Stripes and Insight Partners, and lists about 500 employees on LinkedIn.

Is Connecteam safe to use?+

Connecteam's trust center lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and PCI DSS compliance, AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit. The audit reports sit behind a login request and no auditor is named publicly, so treat the certifications as self-reported until you see the reports. HIPAA use needs a HIPAA-registered account, which costs extra, and a business associate agreement.

Are Connecteam's reviews real?+

They come from real users, but most were requested. In our September 2026 pulls, 89 of 100 Capterra reviews carried an incentive label, G2 marked 269 of 292 as incentivized, and 93 of 99 recent Trustpilot reviews came through a review link Connecteam shares, even though Trustpilot labels them unprompted. Critical reviews are still easy to find on every platform.

Is a job that uses Connecteam a scam?+

Not because of Connecteam. Any employer can open an account, and a few reviewers say fake employers used the app to collect bank and Social Security details. The FBI's advice is to verify the employer on its own website and never give bank details before you have confirmed who is hiring you.
